richard is one of the few African-American leading men on television today, and is indeed a stand-out. That's nothing new to this multi-talented rising star who has always had a passion for performing. In fact, it was during a 1983 Diana Ross concert that Richard was spotted dancing in the crowd. As a trained dancer (both in jazz and hip-hop styles), as a singer, and with his striking good looks, Richard was easily noticeable and soon segued into modeling. the bug bit him, and he was hooked. Richard made his television debut on "21 Jump Street" landing a recurring role as the wise-cracking character JACKSON. While simultaneously utilizing his college degree working as an accountant at Telus Communications, he took time to hone his craft taking acting classes and picking up stunt work and stand-in jobs.

born in London England, Richard spent the early part of his childhood in the Caribbean before moving to Canada. His family settled on the West Coast in Vancouver, British Columbia in the mid-70's.
with the influence of such diverse environments forming the foundation of his youth, it is no surprise that Richard feels so at home with the multi-ethnic cast on the Toronto set of "DOC". The popular family-themed drama certainly embodies sentiments close to his own heart... Richard always keeps his family very close.
Richard recently formed his own production company called 2 BOYS & A GIRL PRODUCTIONS. Compli–menting his acting career, he works to create and produce original projects.
